Field target is a fast-growing airgun sport, and this Remington jackrabbit target is a welcome addition. Make sure you have a proper backstop to stop any pellets that miss the target. If the target is hit outside the kill zone, it will not flip back (the target face does not fall, as in traditional pull-to-reset targets). It'll flip back only when you hit the kill zone. Pellets that split on the edge of the kill zone (it happens) may not have enough power to knock back the kill zone and get a point in a field target match.
Most field targets have a string attached to the target to pull it back into position once the kill zone has been hit. But this shoot-to-reset target requires no string and resets when you shoot the reset plate that hangs down.
Shoot-to-reset targets have been used in the U.K. by field target clubs. So, the mechanism is tested and reliable
Field targets will help increase your accuracy. Start off with the largest kill zone, and then use the reducers to challenge yourself as you improve.
Because the target is metal, make sure everyone in the area wears safety glasses. Pellets can ricochet. Be sure to also remove all pets from the area to prevent injury from ricochets.
